Grape Thief

Who's been stealing grapes?! Don't know if you can see but the raccoon/squirrel/bird that has been eating our grapes is pretty picky. No peelings, and only the ripe ones. Pretty sure Dad will still have enough for wine.

Recent adventures in the Springs

Many photos, as always, but here is the summary of my latest adventures

The balloon festival was well worth the lack of sleep. Very surreal to stand among throngs of inflating hot air balloons. I wasn't even able to stay to the second round of them. The interesting ones I saw included the Energizer Bunny, Noah's "Arky," and Earl the Dead Cat.
They also have a "Night-Glo" where they don't take off but inflate and run the burners in unison. Also entertaining.

Every good labor day party needs a flame juggler (yes, Sam and Katie, that is Jeff Olivero)
UPA sectionals. Beautiful day, they started off well and got worse throughout the day, but pulled it together the next day to make it to Regionals (this coming weekend in Arizona)

Amy Holkeboer took some time off from Mayo to check out Colorado, her hopeful future home state. Sadly, the Ultimate tournament was the only good weather while she was here, so we took what adventures we could.
Olympic Training Center
We gave Pikes Peak Highway a shot, but they had gotten so much snow the past couple days they weren't able to keep up with the plowing. Multiple feet per day, we were told. The road was only open until their halfway point, only about 9,000 ft.It has been sunny since she left. But the peaks are looking even taller with snow on them!

Gotta Love It

You've all heard us complain about this at least once, but we thought our new TV viewing arrangement was kinda funny. We can get public tv in the kitchen or upstairs... and not always in the kitchen. Last night we watched the National Park special in the skinny room upstairs; tonight we were more comfortable...

Java

These photos are from about a month ago on the last weekday we both had off together before Reuben started school. We headed to Madcap, our favorite coffee shop, which is downtown. We'll all have to go there together as a family sometime. It's local, they roast there own coffee, and they do latte art.... to name a few of the perks. Thought it deserved a short post.

Magnificent

I thought I'd post some of our concert pics too, even though most of you have seen them on Facebook already. There isn't much more to say, other than that it was amazing!

Well, here is the video I put together from the pictures and short video clips we gathered over the previous weekend. Hope you like it. Let me know what changes you think could be made. Be patient, this is a big file and might take some time to download.

Bullet in a blue sky

It was beautiful here in MI this weekend and I had the chance to go up to scott's cabin to help put up some deer management sites (deer stand/blind). Scott has recently created an 18 hole disc gold course on the acreage which we played multiple times. Kirk was also there, which meant I ended up bleeding. I got hit in the head with a driver. It hurt. Here is a picture.
Not a bullet, but it was thrown pretty fast.

Breathe

I am still having dreams of the concert. It may be due to the fact I have been looking up youtube video of the concert since we got home. We should try to do that again sometime. I am finally catching up on the workload since leaving school last friday. Now I finally have a chance to breath again. (It sounded way better in person...)

Beautiful Day

I know the title is obvious, but it really was a great day. What a show!
I apologize, my pictures aren't that great; we brought the old camera, and I was more focused on getting video clips. Still, I feel compelled to post what I have even if they don't it justice.

Thanks to Reuben, Rachel, Sam and Katie for hanging out with us at the show. It really made it a fun experience and probably my best U2 show.
