The Dress Looks Nice On You

Well, yesterday was my brother Justin's wedding day. It was beautiful and so much fun! So here are a few pics of us. I'm sure Mom has a few better ones since she was taking the photos all day long. Less than two weeks until the next one when I will gain another sister-in-law! :) By the way, I'm playing Ben's game, so give this title a try.

"Karks" and Big Fish

We visited the aquarium yesterday. Kept the kids interested for a couple of hours. Cool place! Avery liked the "karks"

It looks like Colorado is great, I wish we could all be there! Well here in MI exciting things are happening as well:) I get to go back to Grand Haven for a second interview on Wednesday afternoon. I'm excited about this interview and the school, we'll see what happens! Sam's already working at Calvin, and after one day it seems to be going well:)

Robots in disguise!!!!!!

To whom it may concern-

watch this final trailer! The CG tech. has become amazing, and these robots are awesome! Now I am uber excited. Who cares if the movie is bad, it is eye candy from my (and many others') youth. The voices aren't the same, but if you listen closely while Optimus transforms, you will hear a sound effect that you will recognize better than your own mother's voice.

to see the final transformer trailer, go to www.digg.com and search for "final transformers movie trailer" Enjoy!!

New contest

Mattie, I just heard that Mat Kearney is going to be playing the Pepsi Center (big arena) out here in Denver. The problem is, he is opening for Kelly Clarkson! Just another sign that all is not right with our world. Do you think they would let me buy half a ticket and let me leave after the opening act?

I thought of a contest for the blog. Some of you may have noticed that I like to title my postings with song titles that sort of relate to the body of the writing. I decided that whoever can guess the name of the artist first in the comments gets a point. Whoever has the most points at the end of the calender year gets a prize(cash value not to exceed $5).
I will make sure to put some classics in there to keep the paying field open. Feel free to participate or not.

Congrats on the interviews Sam and Katie!

Mattie, stop looking so mad all the time.

Catching you all up

Well, I am almost done..... I just spent the last few days in a fury of typing/writing, and with Katie's help, it got mostly finished. It wasn't my best work, but sometimes, it just doesn't happen. I have a 90 minute oral exam on wednesday afternoon. It is really just an exit interview, but we are getting taped, evaluated, and graded. This thing is 20% of the final grade, so I can't just walk in unprepared....oh well. Guess who else has an interview? Katie! Wednesday at 9:30am. While I am on the topic, Katie ran the 25K last Saturday, and she did quite well. Her time was about 2:05. (hours not minutes for those of you who don't know or are just concerned she has taken performance enhancing drugs) Here are a couple pictures for those of you who weren't there. Those that were there can just skip down to the picture of Mattie looking angry. -3 out

A place to live!

Well after much waiting and anticipation, Sam and I have found a place to live! It is just from June-August, but we are excited. A Calvin Seminarian and his family are going to travel to Iowa for the summer and they wanted to rent out their house. Thankfully we were the first to inquire and we officially signed the lease yesterday. It is located in Alger Heights, quite close to Reuben and Rachel! We'll get to move in a week before our wedding so it should work out great. What an answer to prayer and a blessing for both Sam and I and the Seminarian couple.

Wish You Were Here!!

We just thought we'd say hi. It will be nice when the Colorado people can join us soon. Actually, it will be nice when Mattie can join us, too ;-). Sure looks like you are enjoying the view out there. It looks very soothing.
The new website is live, but still needs a little work. Check it out if you like.

Seis de Mayo

This is what it looks like outside this morning. I guess I shouldn't complain to much about the snow, it makes for an uplifting morning. I think that bird in the second picture might prefer a little warmer weather.

Happy Cinco de Mayo

Below is the view out of our kitchen this afternoon. This global warming is killing me.

No new video on youtube this week. I am having some technical difficulties.

One more month until we are in the Great Lakes State!

Time for a New Photo

Hey all...
Look at the crabapple tree this morning! Isn't life grand? I love spring...and summer. We're getting anxious to see the grandkids, and celebrate at Sam and Kate's wedding, and just plain enjoy life without snow....
Say a little prayer for Grandma and Grandpa Maier today. They are on their way to Atlanta. Yes, folks they made it on the road! Hope they have a safe and fun trip.

just a little longer...

As Katie and I finish up our student teaching, we have many papers to write and assignments to finish up. All this work reminds me of my favorite poster.... enjoy

housing...

The apartments I was hoping to live in are full. Apparently Allendale/Hudsonville/Jenison are some pretty popular places to live, the car charge up the wazoo and only offer 12 month leases and still be full. Maybe I will just have to live downtown and spend all the money I save on rent on gas to get to everywhere I need to go. I'll hopefully talk to my hopeful roommate soon and start getting things figured out...
In more fun news the thunderstorms that rolled through last night were pretty cool, so I sat on my "covered entrance" and got these with my little point and shoot and mini tripod:
