Last weekend we went to Grand Haven for the weekend and stayed at Harbor House Inn, a cozy, beautiful bed & breakfast. This is the third year we've done this in the wintertime. It was great! Sunday afternoon was absolutely gorgeous out and we walked down the pier. There was no wind, the sun was out, and the ice/water was so cool I think especially given the really warm days we had the week before. The views were breathtaking!
I love how in the above picture it's hard to tell if that white line in the horizon is ice or a line of clouds.
Reuben found a few large pieces of ice to throw out into a thin part of the ice. This one broke through the layer to the water below.
Walking around town...shops....art galleries...hot dogs... coffee.... great Saturday afternoon.
The B&B. We had two great dinners out too at the Old Boys Brewhouse and Porto Bello. We were bummed that Kirby Grill was booked up for Valentine's night- oh well! We also saw that movie Slumdog Millionaire, which is great for those of you who haven't seen it.
We did some geocaching on Saturday afternoon. Wow do we have a great story (after the fact) that is way too long for the blog. Let's just say we almost crashed our car on a hill in a snowy cemetary.... our next vehicle needs to be something better in the snow. :) Just ask us later.
