Happy Anniversary parental unit!
I remember your seventh anniversary so well: Mom spent it in the hospital, there were nectarines on the tree in the yard, Reuben was mad at mom, and I was almost a c-section. Those were the good old days!

Happy Birthday Sam!
Hope you had a great day Sam. We won't get into the "on the day you were born"...
Well, just a little: I remember how you were almost a c section, those big eyes of yours, and nectarines on the tree in the yard, and how Reuben was a little upset with me....

Millions of Peaches
Actually it is a tomato, a German Johnson tomato to be exact, but I couldn't find a good song about tomatoes. Sorry about moving Evelyn down a spot on the blog but I'm sure she will be back on top soon. Just had to brag about our prolific tomatoes.
The German Johnson tomato is representative of one of the four types of heirloom tomatoes that we grew this year and have proven to be a big success. They are available to anyone who wants to drive out to our garden, first come first served.

Nordhouse Dunes
We finally got back to Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness Area. Spent one night and took a hike on the beach Monday.
This is a full "fogbow" (it wasn't raining, and it wasn't very colorful, so we called it a "fogbow") we saw for several hours on the beach. Please forgive my first attempt at stitching three photos together, but I tink it is pretty cool The first time we ever saw anything like it. ...
Here is the view from our campsite. We got back to our favorite spot.
...and the camp...
Proof that we were there ;-)....
We found several more interesting things on our morning hike. I liked the dew on the feathers....
Dad set this shot up. He calls it "One Too Many!" I'm not sure how I feel about it. Actually there were quite a few dead Gulls on shore. Maybe from the storms they had over the lake Thursday?
We saw an Eagle again, too. Couldn't get a pic of him cause my camera wouldn't focus quick enough in the fog. Oh well. But we did get his tracks....
and the remains of breakfast....
OK, Enough gross stuff. Here are some random pretty scenics to end the blog.
Thanks for looking!

work
well it is finally official...I have a new job! I am the new department assistant of Housing at Calvin. I'm not sure about all of the details of the job yet, but I will be doing a lot of work with students living on campus as well as prospective students. I'll also being doing various things within the Student Life office there. Sam and I cleaned out my room yesterday-after FINALLY getting a hold of my principal-and I turned in my keys. I start working at Calvin on Monday, so just a few more days of summer for me:)
