(forgot to get to this on the phone today, mom...)
I am officially up in a "boutique" in Old Colorado City!
Some friends of ours have been working on starting a store similar to Global Gifts or The Bridge, of which there is nothing in Colorado Springs, and just last weekend opened a storefront in my favorite part of town! During a thing called "desert house" that raises money for various organizations, I hung my "Art" and they decided it should stay there. It is also for sale, and this weekend is one of the busiest they will have all summer. We'll see what happens!

Got myself another part time job for the summer... back at a camp!
Actually, it is technically with the City, a day camp for teens with special needs (thanks Aunt Diane!) working under Felicia. A solid 20 hours a week, no worries about silly on call shifts, no evenings, and lots of crazy stories. I go in on Monday to fill out paperwork and take a drug test and learn more about training and things. (mom, looks like I have one more thing getting in the way the first few days you will be here in June... I'll keep you posted.)
Hooray!

A Tale of Two Cells

It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. Katie had great season of training for the 25k and did well. But then Katie couldn't stop throwing up. This picture should help illustrate why:

Yes, that is what you think it is: a very small baby! I like to call it our growing bundle of cells that will someday bear the resemblance of Katie and myself. I think Kate said the heart was beating at 124 beats/min. The official due date is January 6 which means it could land on either of the major holidays in January: New Years Day or Uncle Steve's Birthday.
Katie is starting to feel better finally. She spent all last week on the couch and has lost ten pounds since she ran the riverbank run. Now the doctor has her on some anti-nausea stuff that has allowed her to eat something real for the first time in a long time. You know something is wrong when Katie is too tired to clean or even run.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers for us. We are excited and feel very blessed!

2 Feet Baby

Sorry to you professional photographers out there that the above picture is so dark and blurry, but I needed to post one that we took of Alena yesterday night before we took her little bandaids off from her 2 month appt. shots. :( It was so sad to see her screaming in pain and she cried hard off and on all evening. By the time we took this picture, she thankfully was in a better mood (after some infant acetaminophen drops). But as far as the update, she is 10 lb. 10 oz. and 24 inches long! 2 feet! As Reuben said, she has grown 1/3 of her height already! I thought she was looking and feeling really long, so that obviously confirms it. Below are a few more recent pictures of her. We're excited that she gets to meet Aunt Mattie next week!
