Your flower garden has some sort of Coral Bells (I think that's the leaf that you said looks kinda like Lemon Balm), lilies, peonies, and I think I see Iris and Phlox? i can't make out the other stuff. Probably the Lemon Balm you mentioned. Looks like they have a lot of stuff in a small space. Could look nice with just a little work.
yeah, there is a lot of undergrowth... those bell looking things didn't seem attached to anything so we pulled them, figuring they were old annuals. We have already pulled out a LOT, but I haven't been back for a few days.
