5 Years!

Two weekends ago was our annual anniversary trip. This year we went backpacking in Nordhouse Dunes for 3 nights. This year was much more relaxed as we hiked in, found an awesome campsite, and kept the same site all 3 nights instead of packing up every morning. We did day hikes and relaxed on the beach to fill our time. This first pic is of Reuben filtering water- an immediate necessity when we got there!

On our anniversary, down at the beach. Can't believe it's been 5 years!

Mountain House is the best! Especially the raspberry crumble dessert- the treat on our anniversary!

Our awesome campsite right up a dune from the water, but nestled in the woods.

Percolating our coffee over the fire, a morning must!
We hiked on dunes and in the woods...

I look kinda pregnant in this picture....?? Below is a picture (not captured very well) at an overlook of an area of trees that were totally crushed down in a tornado a few years back. The view was really amazing.

We had a few great sunsets, but this one on the last night was spectacular with the clouds.
Time to hike out! We had a great relaxing trip and time together. It's always wonderful to get away to the middle of nowhere and just stop, breathe, relax, be, and enjoy God's' amazing creation!

Nope, no eagles. No fogbow either. :)

I didn't realize it had been 5 years already. That used to be a long time.

I don't know where Nordhouse Dunes are, but it looks like a great area.

Ben, FYI... Nordhouse Dunes are right next to Ludington State Park. That's where we saw the famous fogbow (the photo that made the Peter Chan weather report :-) ).
