Things that have happened in the past few weeks:
Rescued children stuck under a bridge due to a "capsized" canoe
Learned how and frequently have driven a tractor transporting staff around camp
Drove something larger than my Mazda off camp on narrow winding roads in the pouring rain (dodge ram truck... it was scary for me)
Killed over 15 spiders in my closet-office. some the size of my face
Learned how to edit videos using professional software
Greatly improved my Chaco tan-lines
Found a beetle the size of my thumb with pinchers the same length
Played a mean game of plunger-ball resulting in some form of grassy rash
Remained un-allergic to poison ivy
Was married to the mob boss's accountant in a shady Murder Mystery game
Learned how to play Texas Hold-em
Re-certified in CPR
Downloaded and implemented a new system for badge-making, and fixed the printer
It's been pretty eventful
I have no idea what storms mom was worried about... we got a ton of rain on Tuesday but haven't seen rain since. And calvin is ok too
Photos to come!

Title of the Song
I'm looking for some songs for my road trip playlist. They need to be somewhat uptempo so I can stay awake. Please post suggestions Here's what I have so far:
Cherub Rock - Smashing Pumpkins
Yesterday - 30 Seconds to Mars
Sweet Child O Mine - Guns and Roses
Stars - Hum
Born to Be Wild - Steppenwolf
Also, here are some pictures from this past weekend's trip to the headwaters of the mighty Colorado River.

A Song that Goes Like This
We saw Spamalot last night. The lady behind me was practically reciting it with the actors. The lady next to me sat stoically staring toward the stage. Dad and I just laughed a lot. The Not Yet Dead scene is still the best.... although the Just a Flesh Wound scene is good too...and then there is the Lady of the Lake dance...and What Happens in Camelot...and the killer rabbit...all with that silly, politically incorrect British humor.
Lots of fun. ;-)

Pain
We installed wood flooring this past weekend and I am sore. It seems like it was harder this time around. It looks pretty good though. I'm pleased with the results. Avery even chipped in with the demolition. I have some before and after action here for you to enjoy:
After it was done we went to Tiny Town and celebrated Mother's Day.

Run
Friends and Family-
Kate ran the 25K riverbank run yesterday in about 2 hours and 15 minutes. This was about 11 minutes slower than last year. She had some really bad stomach cramps and was just about ready to quit many, many times, but she finished in what I call a very respectable time. When I asked her at the completion of the race if she would ever do it again, she said absolutely not. Then I asked her 10 minutes later and she said she had to because she didn't run under 2 hours. So, it appears as though she will live to run another day. One day, Katie will beat 2 hours. And maybe run a marathon some other day. What was your best time dad? Some day we should do a family marathon, maybe split up into various lengths based upon running prowess (e.g. Kate and dad get 7 miles or so, while I take a strenuous mile)
By the way, Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers that just might read this blog today, or days forthcoming. Hooray for moms!
